Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc: Olomouc is a city in Moravia, in the Czech Republic. The Holy Trinity Column dominates the main square of Olomouc. The Baroque statue is 35 metres high and a popular meeting point for the residents of Olomouc. The Holy Trinity Column was built in honour to God, the Roman Catholic Church and the faith and as a thanksgiving for the ending of the plague that had afflicted Moravia in the period 1713-1715. The Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc is the largest Baroque statue in Central Europe. The city of Olomouc is situated about 38 km from Kroměříž and about 58 from the city of Brno.    The Holy Trinity Column in the in the Czech town of Olomouc was built between 1716 and 1754. The Holy Trinity Column is the largest Baroque statue in Central Europe. When creating the Holy Trinity Column, the citizens of Olomouc wanted to create a monument of unrivalled size, wealth and beauty.

The column became the symbol of patriotism of the citizens of Olomouc because both the artists and depicted saints were related to Olomouc in some way.
